Load and Fall Arrestors
Hoist UK offer a full range of load and fall arrestors; Our load arrestors offer a unique system for automatically stopping the fall of a heavy or sensitive load should the primary support system fail. In such an event the cable is pulled out of the arrestor at an accelerating rate. When the cable reaches the activation speed, the braking system engages and this arrests the fall quickly and smoothly in a short distance. Hoist UK load arrest equipment is suitable for protecting overhead static or moving loads and can be used in conjunction with our other lifting equipment. Our retractable type fall arrestor is fitted with 5mm diameter steel cable. It offers full protection and complete mobility to the user in areas where there is a danger of falling. Should a fall occur, cable is pulled out of the block at an accelerating rate. When a cable speed of approx 1.5 meters per second is reached, the braking mechanism is activated arresting the fall quickly and smoothly, exerting minimal forces on the body. When the load is released the cable retracts into the block.
