General Manager Louise Dickson Pursues New Opportunities

Tuesday, June 6th, 2017

It is with a mixture of sadness and gratitude that the Directors of Hoist UK announce Louise Dickson, General Manager, is leaving the business effective 30th June 2017 to pursue new opportunities closer to her south of England home.

Louise relocated to Surrey in 2016 after accepting a marriage proposal from her fiancé and has been dividing her time between her office at home and Hoist UK’s office in Wirral. As Louise’s wedding date approaches we understand that her travelling schedule is inevitably having an impact but although we’re saddened by Louise’s decision we are nonetheless supportive.

Louise joined Hoist UK in the business’s early years and her 9-year tenure has seen her progress through the business from an administrator, to holding sales and marketing positions and progressing to her position as General Manager working underneath Director’s Paul Jordan and Tony Dickson. Louise has played a pivotal role in the development and success of the business and while the team at Hoist UK will miss Louise, we wish her the very best in her next role and thank her for her 9 years of dedicated service which saw many accomplishments including:

  • Overseeing the businesses expansion and move from their Bromborough office to new premises in Moreton, Wirral’s Tarran Way Industrial Estate in 2015.
  • Developing and managing the Hoist UK Sales and Marketing teams to continue the businesses successful growth.
  • Achieving 5 LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) qualifications.
  • Trained to NQA standards, Louise has been the businesses ISO auditor helping the business to achieve ISO 9001:2015 accreditation status.
  • SMSTS trained and CITB Site Safety Plus certified.

“It is with great sadness that I have decided to leave Hoist UK, and it is not a decision that has been made with ease. However, living in the south and working in the north has put a lot of pressure on me, and I’m extremely grateful for Paul and Tony’s understanding and for supporting my decision,’ comments Louise. “Paul and Tony have been a pleasure to work for over the past 9 years, and I wish them the best of luck and a successful future with the interesting and exciting projects at Hoist UK.”

We will now begin our search to recruit a new General Manager, we’re looking for a knowledgeable individual with strong industry experience to oversee both our sales and marketing teams, full details of the role are available here.

Again, we cannot thank Louise enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation she has given to all at Hoist UK and she will be greatly missed by the team, directors and clients alike. We look forward to following the success of her career and hope for the opportunity to work with Louise again in the future as she embarks on her new position within the entertainment sector.
